Jimmy Cliff

Jimmy Cliff was born in Kingston, Jamaica and lived in squalor for quite a while before managing to record a some solid reggae tracks that'd go on to establish him as a ground breaking musician from Jamaica. After a successful residency in Paris as the Jamaican representative at the World Fair in 1964, Cliff became an international reggae sensation and his moderate style of groovy tunes set the standard for how the genre would come to be perceived in the ensuing decades.
