Richard Blake Hansen is an electronic musician who doesn't believe in boundaries. Under his Supervision guise, he's able to bound across genres with unfettered ease and create songs that transcend personal tastes while speaking in the universal language of music. With an ardent interest in music composition from an early age, Hansen started building his talents as a producer and DJ, cutting his teeth on the live circuit by playing gigs
whenever opportunities presented themselves. Whilst living in Fort Collins, Colorado Hansen would meet Derek Vincent Smith (better known by his Pretty Lights moniker) and Michal Menert, two electronic musicians who'd all collectively build their talents by learning production and compositional skills around the same time. This led to Hansen enrolling in audio engineering school to further pursue the nearly unquenchable desire to learn as much as he could about building songs and creating innovative sounds. Starting in 2008, Hansen's friend Derek Vincent Smith became a massively popular electronic musician and was able to start his own record label, Pretty Lights Music, to release forward-thinking music to audiences that crave methodically produced, beat-driven listening material. Smith extended an invitation for Hansen to join the PLM crew, and since then, his Supervision project has become a well-respected name on the modern electronic music scene.
