Evidence (real name, Michael Perretta) is an American rapper best known as a member of the Los Angeles-based hip-hop group Dilated Peoples. Growing up in Southern California, he developed a passion for hip-hop and street culture in the 1980s and later became a graffiti artist before eventually finding a career in music. He helped form Dilated Peoples in 1997 and has seen the group enjoy underground success while occasionally flirting with the mainstream. On his own, Evidence has been able to more fully showcase his individual talents via several streetwise solo albums.
