Dustin Clarence Hidetoshi Wong is a Chinese-American guitarist, and although he was born in Hawaii, he spent most of his youth in Japan. Wong attended art school in Baltimore where he formed his first experimental guitar band in 2005 with Matt Papich, called Ecstatic Sunshine. The duo split in 2007 and he went on to play in the art-rock band, Ponytail, while simultaneously beginning his solo act. His 2009 debut album, Seasons, is an appropriate name for Dustin's guitar playing, which mirrors the erratic rhythms of seasonal change. Instead of writing his music, Wong creates his music by refining improvisational recordings of himself.
