The Minutes

The Minutes is a garage rock project from Ireland that was formed by two cousins, Mark Austin and Shane Kinsella. The band formed in Dublin in 2006, influenced by British pop rock and the raw energy of Nuggets box set compilations from the 1960s psychedelic scene. Austin and Kinsella soon took on bassist Tom Cosgrave, completing the power trio format it utilizes up to this day. The Minutes write straight-forward rock and roll that often delves into blues rock riffing and is slightly reminiscent of some of its American counterparts, such as The Black Keys and The White Stripes. The trio's production values are much glossier than those of the aforementioned bands, however, giving it a crossover style that should appeal not only to garage fans, but purveyors of radio-friendly alternative rock as well.
