Woods is a four-piece band based out of Brooklyn that was formed in 2005 by Jeremy Earl, singer/songwriter and owner of the independent record label Woodsist. Blending lo-fi garage rock with rootsy folk and California sunshine pop, the band doesn't fall strictly into one genre but still manages to have a distinct and cohesive sound. While Woods is generally regarded as a lo-fi band, its ability to incorporate thoughtful harmonies and other more polished elements has set it apart from the throngs of other purveyors of lo-fi and has garnered the band a more diverse fan base.
