San Francisco-based Chris Dexter Greenspan began experimenting with electronics under the oOoOO moniker in 2008. By 2010, the producer had helped forge the drag/witch house genre with contemporaries Salem and Balam Acab--though Greenspan is quick to deny any associations with witch house. While he primarily relies on dark distortions and spliced samples all slowed down to a syrupy pace, oOoOO still manages to rise above the standard genre confinements, as his tracks contain subtle nods to modern R&B, and his dirges and drones are more experimentally-minded than what's become expected of electro-goth producers.
