In this play within a play, an unlikely meeting of minds takes place: playwright W.H. Auden and composer Benjamin Britten live in the same apartment building. The Habit of Art draws layers of meaning from its historical foundations, artistic truths discussed between the characters, and some controversial stances on pedophilia. Writer Alan Bennet has created an enlightening piece of theater with a creative plot, and themes, and dialogue brimming with blasts of ingenuity and wordplay.
