One of the pioneering DJs of the glitch-hop genre, Vancouver-based Elysha Zaide began DJing in the 1990s, setting herself apart by singing while simultaneously spinning drum and bass records. As she became more and more influenced by dubstep, hip-hop and 2-step, Zaide donned the name ill-esha and worked extensively with fellow DJ Dewey db to found the Glitch Hop Forum, solidifying the genre's status on the electronic music scene. Since then, ill-esha has released several albums on various respected labels, performed worldwide and established herself as one of the most prominent female DJs in electronic music today.
