Anastacia

The Chicago-born pop singer Anastacia, or Anastacia Lyn Newkirk, rose to fame via a talent show. She appeared on the MTV program The Cut, and even though the singer didn't come in first place, she inspired the judges so much that she managed to land an impressive recording contract. Throughout the 2000s, Anasticia achieved global success with several well received albums and even overcame breast cancer to remain one of pop music's more recognizable voices.
