Singer/songwriter Mic Donet was discovered in Berlin as a member of the break dance crew Step 2 Diz in 2001 by a talent scout for CHET Records, who signed Donet after learning he could sing. He released his 2004 debut album Stille Wasser, with CHET Records/ Sony Music shortly after introducing himself to the world with the Billboard Top 100 single "Jemand da." He spent the next few years promoting his music on world tours with several prominent artists, most notably Carlos Santana whose lead singer Andy Vargas invited Donet to collaborate with him in Los Angeles. This partnership proved to be Donet's ticket to fame, as he was subsequently invited to join Santana on another tour of North America. After quitting his contract with Sony in favor of maintaining his creative control, Donet took the independent route for the release of his 2008 album Plenty of Love.
