Handsome Furs

When two people decide to start making music together, it can be a beautiful thing--especially if the two are married like Canadian synth-punk band Handsome Furs. Helmed by bassist and vocalist Dan Boeckner (frontman of Wolf Parade) and synth player Alexei Perry, Handsome Furs makes a unique style of minimalist music that's driven by electronic drum machines as well as both Boeckner and Perry's instrumentals. Somber, world-weary and unintentionally hip, in a Neutral Milk Hotel vein, Handsome Furs continues to garner well-deserved hype.
