Marky Ramone is a musician from Brooklyn, NY who adopted his chosen moniker as the drummer for the most renowned and longest-running lineup of the Ramones. He played music under his birth name, Marc Steven Bell, with acts including Dust, Wayne County and the Backstreet Boys and Richard Hell & The Voidoids before adopting the name Marky Ramone in 1978 upon joining the the iconic punk rock band. He would play with founders Dee Dee, Johnny and Joey Ramone until 1982, and then again from 1987 to the Ramones' ultimate retirement in 1996. Marky has recorded with artists including The Misfits and his own outfits such as Marky Ramon & the Speedkings, before finally releasing his debut solo record, Start of the Century, in 2006. He continues to record with Marky Ramone's Blitzkrieg, though is best remembered as one of the founders of punk rock.
