Biagio Antonacci is a singer-songwriter from Milan who first came to notice after participating in the Sanremo Music Festival in 1988. One year after his performance he dropped his debut album, Sono cose che capitano, and his eponymous follow-up in 1991, but earned little attention for either record. With his back against a wall, Antonacci pushed his pop music stylings for his third album, Liberatemi and finally saw positive reactions from Italian critics and audiences. Though he never broke into the mainstream music circuits in the western world, Antonacci reached international audiences with his 2004 album, Convivendo: Part I as well as his subsequent record, 2005's Vonvivendo: Part II.
