Roland Kaiser

Before Roland Kaiser became one of Germany's best-selling crooners, he worked as a marketing executive for a car firm. Though Kaiser treated singing as a mere hobby, he was discovered by a German record producer who offered to help record some of his songs. After releasing his first single in 1974, he established his throwback style and became a breath of fresh air for music listeners tired of over-saturated pop vocal stylings. Though not necessarily popular with younger generations of Germans, Kaiser's music tends to resound well with an older crowd who look at the singer as the German equivalent of legends like Frank Sinatra or Perry Como.
