Wajdi Mouawad is a Lebanese-Canadian writer, actor and director. He became the artistic director of Montreal's Théâtre de Quat'Sous, in 2000, and from 2007 to 2012, the artistic director of Le Théâtre français du Centre national des Arts of Ottawa. During his career he won and obtained awards and distinctions, such as the Officer Order of Canada in 2009.
