The Residents

The Residents is an avant-garde experimental group that is shrouded in mystery. The group formed in the mid-1960s and the members have never disclosed their identities. This visual arts group is known for its signature costumes of eyeball masks, top hats and tuxedos. The members have never spoken to the media and The Residents have an official spokesman--The Cryptic Corporation. The group's surreal sound is a mixture of electronic pop/rock and avant-jazz, and it has released over 60 albums since 1972.
