The Mystery Of Edwin Drood

Based on the Charles Dicken's unfinished novel of the same name, The Mystery of Edwin Drood, later shortened to Drood, is a murder mystery musical that debuted in 1985 as part of the New York Shakespeare Festival. After transferring to Broadway in 1986, the show became the first Broadway musical with multiple endings to be determined by audience voting. The Mystery of Edwin Drood took home five of its 11 Tony Award nominations including Best Musical,
Best Original Score and Best Performance by a Leading Actor in a
Musical. In contrast to Dicken's original work, the show takes on comedic and lighthearted tones through the chaos of its metatheatrical, multi-murderer murder mystery plot.
