Bright Eyes is an American band that plays alternative country and indie folk music. The band started in 1995 and had several very successful singles released in 2004. Lead singer and songwriter Conor Oberst plays guitar and has been recording since he released his first album at just 13 years-old. Some of Oberst's songs are inspired by Milan Kundera's The Unbearable Lightness of Being and by Neely O'Hara's Valley of the Dolls.
