Staind is a post-grunge rock band from Springfield, Massachusetts that uses baritone guitars to achieve its original and identifiable sound. Inspired by such bands as KoRn, Pearl Jam, Tool, Rage Against the Machine and Alice in Chains, band members formed Staind in 1995. Its first album, Tormented, was released in 1996.
