Núria Piferrer, aka Nevoa, was born in Barcelona, Spain in 1971. She's a peformer of fado music, a revered Portugese genre that dates back to slavery, with its roots in storytelling, African rhythms and Arabic influences. Up until now, she has released several succeful studio albums, beginning with Fados i Fades, which came out in 2001 and helped launch her career.
