La Verbena De La Paloma is a traditional Spanish zarzuela, a type of dramatic music incorporating spoken and sung verses intermittent with dance. This original version was written in 1894 by Ricardo de la Vega. It is the story of a love triangle that, though it was written so long ago, has remained timeless. Over six versions of this zarzuela have been recorded and released in CD format, and there are also film versions of the story.
