Crystal Fighters

Crystal Fighters is a Spanish band from Navarre that boasts a rather unique and eclectic style, mixing synthesizer beats with traditional Basque folk to create fast-paced folktronica-meets-dance pop. The five-piece took on the rather daunting task of basing its 2010 debut album on a band member's grandfather's unfinished opera he wrote during a mental breakdown, in an attempt to explain the nature of existence. Despite the rather heavy subject matter, Crystal Fighters managed to forge an accessible dance record that won over a tremendous amount of fans in its native country and the UK.
