London-born artist Lita Ford is a rock and roll singer/songwriter and guitarist who got her start as the lead guitarist for The Runaways in 1975. After rising to fame as part of the all-female band until its dissolve in 1979, she moved on to a successful solo career. Though her 1983 debut album Out for Blood, was a commercial let down, she began to build a reputation with her follow-up album, Dancin' on the Edge, among heavy metal audiences and eventually mainstream rock critics for her razor sharp guitar chops and sexualized image. After taking a 15-year break from recording and performing, she returned in 2009 with Wicked Wonderland, and has since continued to perform and release new material, such as 2012's Living Like a Runaway.
