Lily Tomlin is an actress and comedienne from Detroit, Michigan who has become one of the United States most revered and well-known female comics since she began performing in the mid-1960s. One of the few performers who has managed to successfully work across the mediums of television, film, recording and stage, Tomlin has more than earned the title of "America's New Queen of Comedy" bestowed upon her by Time magazine when she made the cover of the iconic periodical in 1977.
