The Symphony Silicon Valley in California was founded in 2002. It "began as a phoenix orchestra, rising from the ashes of the old San Jose Symphony," according to the Mercury News. Experienced musicians from all over the world came to the Bay Area to start collaborating as a creative unit. The symphony prepares seven programs for the concerts that are held throughout the year. In addition, seasonal concerts are held at Christmas and other holidays.
