Though the British musician Howard Jones' legacy in the annals of music history might not be extremely impressive, it's nevertheless fairly respectable; considering his characteristic style of singer/songwriter synthpop frequented the English radio charts. After learning how to play the piano at a young age, Jones would join a progressive rock band before deciding to move on and create material that blended different new wave sensibilities with radio-friendly pop vocal hooks. Jones' debut album, 1984's Human's Lib, managed to sell extremely well in the UK and fairly respectably in the US. Despite never being able to release an LP that has sold better that his debut, Jones continues to write new material and tour somewhat regularly.
