Seether is a post-grunge band from South Africa that was formed in 1999 by Shaun Morgan Welgemoed, Dale Stewart and Dave Cohoe. Under that name Saron Gas, the band released its debut album Fragile, in 2000 before adopting the name Seether and releasing Disclaimer in 2000. Its sophomore effort earned the band national fame and eventually international recognition after Seether was chosen as the opening act for Evanescence's world tour. The band signed a record deal with Wind-Up Records and moved to the US where it honed its post grunge/alternative metal sound on albums such as 2007's Finding
Beauty in Negative Spaces, and 2011's Holding Onto Strings Better Left to Fray.
