Transatlantic is a progressive rock band that was founded in 2000. The band is comprised of Neal Morse of Spock's Beard, Mike Portnoy of Dream Theater, Pete Trewavas of Marillion, and Roine Stolt of The Flower Kings. Transatlantic commits to the progressive rock retro sound of the 1970s. After having released two albums, the band split up two years after its formation, only to reunite seven years later to release the concept album The Whirlwind in 2009.
