Diego Torres is a singer/songwriter and actor whose pop music is flavored by his Latin American roots. Born in Buenos Aires, Torres became well-known in his home town as the star of series La Banda del Golden Rocket, which aired on television for three years. After releasing his self-titled debut album in 1992, he began focusing on his music career and put acting on hold. Torres' 2001 album Un Mundo Diferente was largely inspired by Latin rhythm, and his experimentation with a Flemenco-pop fusion earned him a Grammy Award nomination in 2003. The album earned him international attention, particularly in the US where he recorded an MTV Unplugged in 2004.
