Louisville, Kentucky-based band Days of the New is an alternative rock group led by vocalist and guitarist Travis Meeks. The band was signed in 1995 after its playing its third live show, and the following year the band entered the studio to record its debut album. Offering a post-grunge sound, the band's self-titled debut album was released in 1997 and entered the top 40 of the US Albums chart. Days of the New's original lineup dissolved in 1998, though Meeks assembled a new backing band just a year later in time to release the 1999 album Days of the New II. The band went to release a third studio album in 2001 titled Days of the New III, and a compilation album in 2008.
