Brown Bird

With influences ranging from outlaw country to roots rock and American folk to Eastern European music, Brown Bird creates music with integrated waves of different rhythms and diverse instrumentation. Formed in 2003, the indie folk act released its debut album Tautology, in 2006 but underwent a series of lineup changes before settling as a duo. David Lamb contributes guitar, banjo and percussion while MaranEve Swain is a master of string instruments including the violin, viola, chello and upright bass. With both Lamb and Swain adding vocals, Brown Bird offers listeners constantly stirring melodies and haunting lyrics. The band released its fourth studio album The Devil Dancing, in 2009.
