Naoko Takada plays a deft and spectacular marimba (African percussion instrument). Takada began playing the marimba at the age of eight, and by the age of eleven, had appeared as a soloist in the Tokyo Symphony Orchestra and Chamber Philharmonic. Her classical performances are impressive; she plays a wide range of styles, from Piazolla to Bach, and includes traditional Japanese folk songs as well.
