Destruction is a German thrash metal band. Formed as Knight of Demon in 1982, the original lineup comprised Mike Sifringer, Schmier and Tommy Sandmann. Looking to encash the craze surrounding metal music, the band soon changed its name to Destruction and released its demo, titled Bestial Invasion of hell, in 1984. A record deal with Germany's Steamhammer Records followed on the heels of the demo's release and Destruction's Sentence of Death EP was issued later that year. The band released its first full-length album Infernal Overkill in 1985, and followed it with Eternal Devastation in 1986. Over the years, the band has consistently churned out albums, some of which are Cracked Brain, All Hell Breaks Loose, Metal Discharge, D.E.V.O.L.U.T.I.O.N., Spiritual Genocide and Born to Perish, among others. Destruction's popular tracks include "Release from Agony," "Beyond Eternity," "Dissatisfied Existence," "Sign of Fear," "Hate is My Fuel" and "Rollin Stock."
