Noa

One of the most renowned recording artists from Israel, Achinoam Nini is a singer/songwriter from Tel Aviv who goes by her stage name Noa. After meeting her long time collaborator guitarist Gil Dor, she began developing a style that fused together pop, rock, blues and country as well as American, Yemenite and Italian folk music. Her 1993 debut studio album was a dual effort with Dor titled Achinoam Nini and Gil Dor, and though the two musicians continued to work together, she released her subsequent album as a solo artist. The 1994 album, titled Noa, inspired her to adopt her new moniker and she has made music under the name ever since. Having released material in French, Spanish, Galician, Arabic, Hebrew, English and Italian, Noa has become an internationally known artist.
