Death is a (you guess it) death metal band from Orlando, Florida that's considered one of the pioneers of the death metal genre. Founded in 1983, Death would go on to define a sound that blended thrash ferocity and progressive adeptness into a style of music that was unlike anything on the scene at the time. Though the band's founder Chuck Schuldiner, who's considered "the father of death metal," died due to complications associated with a brain cancer in 2001, forcing the Death to breakup; years later the remaining members decided to carry on and continue building the band's legacy as one of the flag barrers of the death metal genre.
