Dieter Nuhr

Although he started out as a cabaret and visual artist, Dieter Nuhr has gained popularity in Germany as a comedian. With a style that mediates between slap-stick humor and intellectual wit, Nuhr offers both satire of everyday occurrences and critical look at media and society. He often parodies the stereotype of a German know-it-all, and has become famous for his line "Wenn man keine Ahnung hat: Einfach mal Fresse halten," or "If you have no idea: Just keep your mouth shut." His well balanced brand of humor earned him the 2010 German Comedy Award for Best Comedian.
