Israel Vibration is a three-piece reggae outfit from Kingston, Jamaica that is composed of Lascelle Bulgin, Albert Craig and Cecil Spence. All three artists bonded over their shared childhood experience of overcoming polio and went on to become one of the most renowned Jamaican roots groups of the 1970s. The band released its debut album The Same Song, in 1978 and dropped two more records before relocating to the US to distance itself from the growing Dancehall scene in Jamaica. Israel Vibration struggled to find an audience and disbanded temporarily before reforming in 1987 at the urging of RAS Records founder Gary Himmelfarb. The band released its fourth studio album Strength of My Life, in 1988 and went on to release a dozen more albums with RAS. Though Gabriel left the group in the late 1990s, Israel Vibration continues to make roots music as a duo.
