Steve Cradock is an English guitarist who has achieved noted success by playing with the well received Britpop group Ocean Colour Scene and The Modfather himself Paul Weller. Growing up in the UK, Cradock always felt a strong affinity for music and became adept at the guitar at a fairly young age. Forming a mod rock group called The Boys in 1988, helped Cradock bolster his performance skills and truly come to grips with what a guitarists role is within the confines of band dynamics. Though the life of The Boys was short lived, a few members of the group went on to form the relatively successful alternative rock group Ocean Colour Scene in 1989. Even though much of Ocean Colour Scene's sound could occasionally become simplistic, Cradock's characteristic guitar tones were always sonic gems in the band's songs. While the group continues to make music, Cradock took an opportunity to serve as guitar player with the band that former lead singer of The Jam Paul Weller formed to tour with. Cradock also recently launched a solo career that has managed to highlight the guitarist impressive ability to pair forthright lyrics to his tasteful guitar playing.
