Dananananaykroyd is a pop/rock and post-hardcore band from Glasgow, Scotland that formed in 2006. Dananananaykroyd's name, derived from the1960s Batman television series theme song and the name of Canadian actor Dan Aykroyd, is a mouthful that speaks directly to the band's overall demeanor and attitude towards its music. The band prides itself on never taking its image or music too seriously and for putting on highly accessible and audience interactive live shows. The six-piece band recorded its debut EP Sissy Hits, with Holy Roar Records in 2008 and released its full-length album Hey Everyone! the following year, which Dananananaykroyd promoted with an extensive tour of the UK along with Foals and Queens of the Stone Age. Despite changes to the band's line-up that includes drummer Calum Gunn taking over lead vocals for Giles Bailey, Dananananaykroyd has maintained its playful sound by keeping its focus on the fans. The band's highly anticipated sophomore album There Is a Way, was released in 2011 and holds the same authenticity found in the Dananananaykroyd's live shows.
