Beginning his career on the stand-up circuit in the early 1990s, Kevin Eldon gained notoriety as playing the role of fictional political poet Paul Hamilton in his routine. Eldon was quickly noticed by Stewart Lee and Richard Herring, who invited Eldon to appear on their BBC Radio 1 show, eventually garnering Eldon spots on several other notable BBC television series, like Big Train and Brass Eye. Eldon became increasingly involved with film, and therefore does not appear on the stand-up circuit often, but when he does make appearances at comedy clubs and festivals, he is sure to impress the audience.
