Algernon Cadwallader is an American emo band from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Formed in 2007, the band consists of Peter Helmis (vocals, guitar), Joe Reinhart (guitar, vocals), Nick Tazza (bass) and Jeff Schroeck (drums). The band released their debut album, Some Kind of Cadwallader, in 2008, and followed it up with their sophomore album, Parrot Flies, in 2010. Algernon Cadwallader's music is characterized by its melodic, upbeat sound, often featuring dual vocals and intricate guitar work. The band's lyrics are often introspective and personal, exploring themes of growing up, relationships, and life in general. Algernon Cadwallader has been credited with helping to define the emo revival of the late 2000s and early 2010s, and their influence can be heard in many of the bands that followed them.
