Hailing from Sweden, Elias and the Wizzkids offer a unique form of pop music that heeds influence from American blues and rock. With the aid of delicate string arrangements and tribal bongo drum wallops, the Wizzkids construct catchy jingles and sorrowful ballads, reminiscent of the woebegone tunes hair metal bands wrote while they were strung out on the skids of Sunset Boulevard. Most of the group's songs are simple but with unique acoustic elements overdubbed with synthesizer buzzes and electric guitar crunches, the Swedes manage to put a unique spin on otherwise droll tunes.
