Blackmore's Night is a folk ensemble led by British guitarist Ritchie Blackmore and US-based vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Candice Night. The two musicians first met in 1989, when Night approached Blackmore for an autograph. The two eventually began collaborating and eventually released Blackmore's Night's 1997 debut album, Shadow of the Moon. Inspired by Renaissance music, the band makes frequent stops at Renaissance fairs around Europe and often performs in full period costumes. Within a decade of its formation, the group released six albums and continues to release new music, including its well received 2010 record, Autumn Sky.
