The Orchestre National de France (French National Orchestra) is a radio symphony orchestra based in the famed Théâtre des Champs-Élysées in Paris and is considered to be the country's most beloved and popular orchestra. Since relocating to its prestigious base of operations in 1944, the Orchestre National de France has become a favorite for many renowned conductors to perform with, as the skill and the interpretive power of the orchestra's musicians has historically been ranked amongst the best in the world. The celebrated Italian conductor Danielle Gatti heads the orchestra as its music director, joining a long list of legendary peers who have directed the orchestra in the past, of whom Charles Munch, Charles Dutoit and Kurt Masur stand as prominent examples.
