Formed in Southern California in 2001, Family Groove Company is a four-piece rock and roll jam band. The group's members met while attending Musician's Institute, a Los Angeles-based school for those pursuing music careers. Now based in Chicago, the band frequently tours the United States, performing its rollicking brand of jam rock packed with blues and funk influences. Though all skilled on their respective instruments, guitarist Adam Lewis' ability to adapt to different styles, ranging from Chuck Berry-esque early rock, to soulful classic rock soloing, makes him a standout in the band's live performances. Family Groove Company has become known in the jam scene for its odd cover song choices, including tracks by hip-hop artists such as Digital Playground and Eminem.
