Connan Mockasin

Constructing avant-pop with discordant strings and eerie arrangements, Connan Mockasin is essentially the solo project of New Zealand native Connan Hosford. The musician initially formed a blues-rock band in his home country under the name Connan and the Mockasins, but after relocating to London in 2006, Hosford took over the project and shifted it into more avant-garde and psychedelic territories. While Connan Mockasin still performs with various backing musicians and utilizes them in collaborative efforts, Hosford remains the primary songwriter and has developed a reputation for his entirely unique style.
