Alela Diane is a folk singer/songwriter from Nevada City, California whose music has grown from being a meditative technique as a youngster to becoming a force to be reckoned with amongst today's independent folk music milieu. Diane had her first semi-professional recording experience in her father's studio at the age of 21, which prompted her to self-release her debut album The Pirate's Gospel shortly thereafter in 2004. Following the unprecedented amount of acclaim that would come her way as a result of her debut release, Diane was picked up by a music label in 2006, offering her the opportunity to re-issue her celebrated album for a much wider audience. So far, following numerous subsequent album releases, Alela Diane has virtually cemented her reputation on the international folk scene as one of its more naturally talented singer/songwriters.
