Converge is a hardcore punk band that was formed in Salem, Massachusetts in 1991. The band's characteristic sound is a mix of aggressive punk and heavy metal that's delivered with an adept aggressiveness by all the members of the group. Converge's first album, Halo in a Haystack, was released in 1994 and the band has managed to crank out a number of albums since then.
