Emerging in the 1980s as a worthy force in the grunge and alternative rock world, Urge Overkill had the privilege of opening for both Nirvana and Pearl Jam in their heyday. The band may be best known for their cover of Neil Diamond's "Girl, You'll Be A Woman Soon," which was featured in the Quentin Tarantino film Pulp Fiction. After a successful stint of releases in the 1990s through both independent and major labels, Urge Overkill returned in 2011 with a brand new album, 10 years after their previous release. With a measured, consistent output already under their belts, the band is likely to maintain a successful career of devout fans, both new and old.
